Privacy Policy

The Hardest keeps this simple: we collect as little as possible, and we never sell your information.

Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect your email address and assign you a user ID. As you play, we store your gameplay activity: puzzle results, streaks, scores, and any content you create such as your display name and league names. If you purchase a Club Membership, we store your membership status and a subscription reference from your payment provider (Stripe on the web, Apple In-App Purchase in our iOS app). We never see or store your full payment card details.

If you play without an account, your gameplay is tied to a random ID stored in your browser, not to your identity. Our servers also record standard technical logs (such as IP address) automatically.

How We Use It

This information is used solely to operate The Hardest: saving your streaks and stats, running leaderboards, leagues, and contests, and managing your membership. We do not sell your information, share it with data brokers, or use it for third-party advertising.

Who We Share It With

We share only what is needed to run the service: your payment provider (Stripe or Apple) to process a Club Membership, and our email provider to send messages you have signed up for. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone. That is a permanent commitment, not a current mood.

Cookies & Local Storage

We store a small random ID and your sign-in session in your browser so the games can remember your results, streak, and account. We do not use them to track you across other websites.

Deleting Your Data

To delete your account and its data, contact us at hello@thehardest.us and we will remove it. You can also unsubscribe from any email using the link in that email.
